December 1985 Minutes

Dec 21, 1985, 3:00pm. Held at Heath/Zenith Computer Center

New officers for the DPRG were elected at the December meeting. Walter Bryant was elected President and Ed Rivers will be Vice President. Bud Collins was elected Secretary/Treasurer but subsequently resigned, leaving that post open. Joe Rowe was selected as editor of the "Robot Companion" and Paul Swan as contributing editor. Many more volunteers are needed for the newsletter. If you would like to write articles or columns, please send your suggestions to Joe Rowe, xxx xxxxxxx xxxxx, Richardson, TX 75082.

June 1985 Minutes

Meeting on June 15, 1985 at the Heath Computer Center in Dallas, Texas.

Assembly Language lab at 3:00 P.M.
General meeting at 4:00 P.M.
An informal "Hand's On" user's lab to be held June 30, 1985 (Sunday) at John and Diane Sprague's home in Lewisville at 2:00 P.M. (phone 214-436-xxxx). Directions and a map were handed out.
Our robot are going!!! - to demonstrate their talents, beauty, and atheletic abilities at the up-coming "Robot Olympics" in a major Dallas Mall.
Ed Rivers described an easy BASIC program which reads your robot's built in clock, calendar, etc. Teach your robot to tell time!!
Tod Anderson reported on the book, "Everyone Can Build a Robot Book"
The Club's "CPU" (Common Program Units) - a report on how all the club members can share in the club's library programs
Walter Bryant - Compass Demo - the addition of an important new sense which will enhance your robot's ability to freely move about.

February 1985 Minutes

At the club meeting Bud Collins showed a VCR recording made during the January 27th Special Users Lab session. Three robots were shown in a coordinated (?!!) effort to pass around a coke can. They also formed the club's first robot duet as they sang (slightly off key) "Old McDonald Had a Robot."

The labs are tenatively scheduled for once a month, two weeks after each club meeting. The emphasis is hand-on participation, exploration, and problem solving. Please feel free to name your pleasure at the next lab session. Joe Rowe will hold the next lab session at his home in Richardson. We will hand out directions to his home at the next meeting, or call him at (xxx) xxx-xxxx.
