December 1996 Minutes
- Distributed literature (brochures and such)
- A presentation was given on the Keil evaluation boards by Chris Nelson.
- DPRG status and reports given:
- Got a DBA
- Got the check cashed and it's in my bank account for now
- Erick Wagner said he could get a checking account through the EDS credit union as
soon as we can get a tax id number.
- Eric Yundt passed on the DPRG box to me.
- Received mailing lists from Roger Arrick and Eric Yundt.
- I tried to find some old members via the internet and a few post cards.
- I worked some more on the web pages
- Purchased the EPLD software that we voted on previously to purchase.
- We decided to wait for Walter Bryant's info that he said he'd mail before
making any decisions on the bank account and not-for-profit status.
- We chatted about having a group robot
- We chatted about maybe having a contest
- T-Shirts
- We voted that we wanted T-Shirts
- The design of the Dallas Skyline and the gripper on the Reunion Tower is to
be redrawn using line art as the artwork for the T-Shirt. We will have a final vote on this.
- We voted to do a one time postcard campaign to see if any old members may be
interested to get the newsletter and come to the meetings again.
- Keil Software issues
- We decided that the eval boards will remain eval boards (not become the brains of
some robot), and will be allowed to be checked out with the software.
- We will write a thank you letter to Keil for their donations.
- We will give them a receipt for their donations.
- Any code that is written with the Keil C software is to be made public to the group.
- Watched videos on robotics

- Jim Brown Elected president 6 votes to 0
- 16 people showed up at noon for the regular meeting
- 16 more (about 4 adults) showed up at 2:00 for the Odyssey of the Mind discussion.
- As expected two or three people commented on the web page time confusion. Sorry about
that folks, I didn't find out myself until a couple of days before the meeting.

October 1996 Minutes
- We had 11 people show for the October 12th meeting.
- We talked about Radio Links to robots.
- We talked about the C language for embedded CPUs such as the 8051. Some compilers spoke
of were the Keil C, Technotools, and New Micro.
- We talked about making the newsletter be via email.
- We talked about moving up the time of the meeting to 12pm.
- A visitor (Wayne Parrott) spoke about AI and putting together a robotic blimp
with sheets of mylar. He said he got some stuff for it via
West Coast Blimps & Electronics at http://www1.ridgecrest.ca.us/~jpiri/.
- We talked about intercomputer communications and connections via some rj45 or molex connectors.
- The words for the day were social-engineer and copius.
