FIRE FIGHTING HOME ROBOT CONTEST
$1,000 First Place Prize 
(over $5,000 in total prizes)

Saturday, April 15 and Sunday, April 16, 2000
Ferris Athletic Center, Trinity College campus, Hartford, Ct.

*  This is the largest, public, true Robotics competition held in the
U.S. 
that is open to entrants of any age, ability or experience from anywhere
in 
the world.
*  Robotists and their creations from all over will compete in this 
international event. 87 Robots entered in last year's contest and more
are 
expected this year.
*  Contestants range from college students from Massachusetts to rocket 
scientists from Florida to high school students from Israel to 4th
graders 
>from California.
*  A weekend full of activities including free Robotics seminars by 
international experts and a Robot Fair featuring the latest in books and

equipment.
*  Meet interesting people from all over North America and the world,
trade 
ideas and information, learn and, most of all, HAVE FUN.
*  Come for the weekend or come for the day, but COME AND SEE THE
FUTURE!

The challenge of the contest is to build a computerized Robotic device
that 
can move through a model of a house, detect fire (a lit candle) and then

extinguish it. Robots that accomplish this task in the shortest time
win.  


CONTEST WEEKEND SCHEDULE  -  All events are open to the public

Saturday, April 15 - Free admission to all events and seminars
    12 noon to 10 pm - Robot practice session - open to public 
    1 pm to 5 pm - Free Robotics seminars and demonstrations

Sunday, April 16 - The contest is open to the public
    9 am to 12 noon - Robot practice session and Robot fair 
    12 noon to 4 pm - The running of the contest and awarding of prizes
