See if this info will help you.

I'd use a small 12volt DPDT relay to reverse the fan, if the motor "trigger" output signal (?) will drive it.
If it will drive a small light bulb then likely it will drive the relay.

Just wire up the fan through the relay so the DC reverses when the relay is on.
