Clay,

It looks like Motorola has a version of the HC11 that will operate at 6MHz
bus speed. That should be 6x4=24MHz external clock at 4 cycles per
instruction.

Here's a link to Motorola's site:

I have a project I built for someone using a 68HC11 processor
and we are trying to get more speed out of it. I've tweaked the
code a couple times and don't expect I can sqweeze out much
more speed.

Does anyone know where I can find a fast version 68HC11?

The plain jane HC11's run at 2Mhz (8Mhz crystal). Motorola
made a fast 3Mhz version (12Mhz crystal).

Any leads would be appreciated.
