 GP2W0001YP is an obsolete part
Its replacement, GP2W2003YK is not recommended
for new design. I assume it has a limited production
life.

Subject: [DPRG] HandyCricket IR part?

I was looking at the handyboard when I noticed the much smaller handy
cricket. When I was looking at their schematic, I noticed they have a chip
called the Sharp GP2W0001YP. ChipDocs identifies this as an 115kbps IRDA
transceiver. However, I can't seem to find this chip or any other chip like
it at mouser, digi-key, etc. Does anyone know where to find these?
