These are LiFe (A123 type) cells.  A little more durable and safe than 
the Li-Ion cells they will probably be replacing in the future.  You can 
charge them faster (usually), they have a longer lifespan and they, 
supposedly, have no heavy metal content so they are more "green" than 
the Li-Ion cells.
