Hi all,

The controller used on my ball following 'Drifter' is now on clearance sale at the BotBall store. The non-profit KISS Institute for Practical Robotics has about 30 units total available (version 2 and 3). Designed with Lego projects in mind, it is also an interesting solution for putting vision on the iRobot Create, and a good generic solution for small robots with low power demands.

Included at the $100 v2 and $150 v3 sale price is the camera module and modified GameBoy SP.

Controller ships with Interactive C. Getting started guide:

Dig in deeper, dump Interactive C and pick up the GCC toolchain:

Controller features an FPGA and supports user installed customer logic configurations.

The Game Boy Advanced (GBA) interface board mounted on this controller can also be used for GBA software development since it emulates a game cartridge. It is quite simple to download or create game binaries and flash them to the board. GBA then boots off the board.

More info:

This controller is a real gem and has been replaced by solutions that lack the vision support and the autonomy focus. Well worth picking one up and grabbing a copy of all the downloads even if you don't currently have time for it
