Remember this story, way back in '91?  It was reported as being true at the
time, but I think it was later discredited as propaganda and/or
irresponsible reporting:

A book published in 2004 made a similar claim of a US-written SCADA virus
causing a Soviet pipeline explosion:

Interesting and food for thought, regardless of the truthfulness of either
claim.
