This thread is interesting. Anyone want to build drones and see if we can
make a business out of it? Check this out.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pl2Z9N4Q82g

There has to be a business opportunity for lifting and durable drones.
Email me if you interested.

Keep in mind the FAA has not yet issued regulations on commercial use of
drones. It presently would be illegal for them to operate.

I suspect the FAA will keep all of this tightly restricted because of the
problems with de-conflicting the airspace. Can you imagine your taco and
Amazon delivery arriving at the same time?

So how long will it take for marauding drones flying the jolly roger to
attack Amazon drones? Or for that matter, Biker drones that force them to
land and strip the motors out for spare parts? Hey you gotta think of these
things... the Robot uprising is closer than you think!

As I watch the Amazon promotional video, I can't help but think that "Ride
of the Valkyries" (from Die Walkure) ought to be playing in the background.
:-)

(Cue Robert Duvall talking about the smell of napalm in the morning.)

Dude Forget Amazon! I am TOTALLY jacking that drone for pizzas! Especially
after it decapitates that guy who's foolish enough to stand there in front
of 8 whirling blades of death. He's British and I guess he's probably pretty
stoic about death... (I lived in London for 5 years... trust me...) I just
hope he ordered pepperoni!

Speaking of safety.
Watch this forlift safety video. A little slow in the beginning. I had to
stop if after 8 minutes yesterday, but I will watch it in its completion at
least 2 more times. Thought about sending to list. Quite instructional.

Well, I guess I sent the forklift video to the list...

If you are squeamish. Might want to stop it a soon as you find the images a
bit uncomfortable to watch. I expect this video will save some lives. I have
seen forklift operators make some of the mistakes illustrated, but
fortunately without the worst case outcomes.

Video is in German, with English subtitles I think.

Dear Santa,

I REALLY REALLY need that Red Ryder B-B Gun.... Pizza... MMMmmmmm.

Actually Ron, I kept waiting for that Killer Rabbit of Caerbannog to show
up... That guy on the floor.... I'm sure he's had worse.
Seriously though, there was a young adult that was killed by his
model helicopter in New York recently while he was attempting some extreme
stunts and that was not funny.
So,Yes, I am wondering how Amazon will handle liability if one of
these things loses power, or goes out of control on a windy/stormy day,
falls out of the sky and hits a car or person or a forklift driver.

 Steve, cc Davids A / P

Speaking of safety.
Watch this forlift safety video. A little slow in the beginning. I had to
stop if after 8 minutes yesterday, but I will watch it in its completion at
least 2 more times. Thought about sending to list. Quite instructional.
