Hi to all,

This is Vlad, the guy who has volunteered to work on the new version of the
DPRG web site J

               * ABOT WEBSITE REDESIGN.*

Here it is my plan for the site redesign:

1. *Server/technology*: I am going to setup a new site with WordPress
to provide members easy way to manage content of the site and administer a

2. *Permissions for a blog*: Will try to set it up the way so all
active members can post a blog right away while a non-members’ blog post
should be approved by the site admin before it became visible on the site.

3. *Graphical design*: To make it faster to get to the point of a
feedback on design I will initially randomly pick a free graphical theme
for the site. Then will gather a feedback and modify the site accordingly.

4. *Web hosting*: To make it faster I will just go ahead and purchase
a hosting and temporary domain name. Kind of like my small donation to our

On the #2 above –We are obviously do not want to manage a access
permissions manually so question is whom I have to contact to agree/get
permission to use an automated call from our future site to get list of
active members account? I can easily pull it from existing site but still
have to ask permission to do it.

Sure it will be more questions once I start working on the site. Meanwhile
please tell me before I started if the general directions above is Ok or
you want to do it different?

Here it is a link to news coverage of one of the last year competition:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0DJ8RYyit6M If somebody interested in info
about 2015 rules of this competition, registration etc. let me know I have
some links for thet in my bookmarks.

Somebody mentioned “kinematics”… If you mean a simulation like this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_sLzCkS4FJw then I am interested in this
topic as well. I am trying to learn on my own how to do such simulation…
still not at a level when I could teach somebody but if we do not find an
instructor maybe we can just get together and help each other by exchange
knowledge and experience?

My congrats to the newly elected governing body J !
