On August 27th, DPRG will descend virtually on the Seattle Robotics Society ROBOTHON Exhibition. Members and guests (everyone is welcome) will gather in the Dallas Makerspace’s Lecture Hall for a joint live viewing of the third SRS Virtual Robothon. Members are also encouraged to use this gathering as a swap meet for robotic components that they wish to make available to others.

The SRS Virtual Robothon event is designed to be a “free-style” show-n-tell type showcase. Ideal project categories are: any type of robot build, contest specific robot build OR a general robotics related project.

Most beginning Arduino users struggle in two areas when taking the next step in their programming journey. These areas are moving to a more professional IDE and learning a style that improves their programming. This workshop attempts to help beginners over these two obstacles. The first area is addressed by having the participant install a working version of Visual Code / PlatformIO including a GIT integration with github.com. The second area is addressed by showing a style of programming that will include some best practices and how to setup multifile projects. The workshop is taught by DPRG to help beginning roboticists but is open to all. Instructor is Doug Paradis with help from Carl Ott.
