DPRG at Moon Day – 7/18/2026

DPRG shared a presentation area with Iron Reign FTC 6832 team and Lovejoy HS’s VEX robotics teams 1082B and M at this year’s Moon Day event held at the Frontiers of Flight Museum near Love Field in Dallas.

It was the first appearance of DPRG’s 7-foot Robie mascot with improved neck mechanics and facial recognition at an event. DPRG presented an array of robots for event attendees to see and ask questions about.

Iron Reign showed one of their FTC robots and had a 3-D printer setup to produce moon and space themed earrings and key chains that they distributed to event attendees.

The Lovejoy VEX robotic teams demonstrated two of their competition robots and displayed the multiple awards that they won this year in state and regional competitions.

All three exhibitors were busy all day sharing information to event attendees, from young to old. A great time was had by all.

Moon Day – 7/19/25

DPRG joined with Iron Reign, team 6832 from the Dallas School of Science and Engineering Magnet, and “Carbonated Potato We are Lovejoy Robotics” team 1082E from Lovejoy HS at the Frontiers of Flight Museum’s annual Moon Day event this July 19. The combined demonstrations were pretty impressive.

Note the specially designed tee shirts that Eric Chaney and John Kuhlenschmidt are wearing in this post’s featured image. Eric designed the shirt especially for Moon Day.
This event is a favorite among the members and gives DPRG an opportunity to give back to the community. Everyone had fun.

Moon Day – 50th Anniversary of Apollo 11

Moon Day 2019 held at the Frontiers of Flight Museum celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 mission. DPRG and Iron Reign, a very successful FTC team, both hosted booths at the event. Their booths contained multiple robotic themed demonstrations that allowed the crowd to participate while learning something new.
