The meeting this month was a double-header talk.

DPRG member, Karim Virani, followed up last month’s “By your command” presentation by demonstrating his robot, Barney, accepting and acting on spoken natural-language commands. Karim discussed cover insights on prompt construction, what the camera sees, and shared context engineering.

DPRG member, Paul Bouchier, gave a talk on Git and GitHub. He explained why individual robotics developers would benefit from using these tools. The talk covered how to get started, how to perform frequently used operations, and common scenarios.

After a pizza lunch at Noon, the floor was open for a “Show and Tell” session.

Join DPRG in a virtual meeting held on June 22, 2024, at 10:00AM CDT for a presentation by Bob Cook, winner of the 2023 SRS RoboMagellan, on how to use AI to detect traffic cones. Bob will cover everything from data collection to building a model and loading it onto a small board computer. This is a great opportunity to see in a practical manner how a model is built.
